The HBV-DNA Quantitative Viral Load test for Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) aids in the monitoring of HBV DNA. Also known as HBV DNA Viral Load PCR Blood, HBV Viral Load PCR Blood, and Hepatitis B DNA Viral Load.

Hepatitis B infection is a liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). This is one of several kinds of viral hepatitis. Contact with infected blood and body fluids can transfer this virus from person to person. Dark urine, exhaustion, fever, abdominal discomfort, weakness, loss of appetite, yellowing of the eyes, and joint and muscular pain are all common signs of this infection. Symptoms usually show one to four months after the infection has occurred.

Typically, this illness does not linger long in the majority of cases. Within a few months, your immune system will have fought it off. If you have had it for more than six months, you are referred to as a carrier. Adults, in most cases, recover completely from this infection within a short amount of time. Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) is a DNA virus that is partially double-stranded and causes Hepatitis B infection. It belongs to the Hepadnavirus family. HBV is made up of an outer envelope and an inner core. The outer envelope contains a surface protein known as the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). The inner core is a protein shell known as the hepatitis B core antigen or HBV core antigen (HBcAg). This antigen is made up of hepatitis B viral DNA and enzymes required for HBV replication.

HBV enters the individuals’ liver cells and is carried into the nucleus of the liver cell. When it enters the nucleus, the viral DNA is released and replication begins. The virus begins to replicate in the liver cells, resulting in serious infection.

HBV DNA levels are typically identified in blood within 30 days of infection. It is a dependable indicator of active HBV replication (copying).

As a result, there is little risk, but bruising, bleeding, and infection at the puncture site may occur in a few situations. After the blood is extracted, the vein may enlarge in a very small number of cases.

This blood test denotes the level of hepatitis B virus DNA (or viral load) in the blood of chronically infected people.

The blood is examined using a highly advanced and accurate Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology.
